Preis-ker of this city and Miss Nancy Folsom, of Santa Barbara, home demonstration agent with the county farm home department, will be the special speakers at the fourth quarterly meeting of the Fifteenth district of the Calilor-nia Congress of Parents and Teachers which will be held here at the Minerva club house on Thursday. Visitors are expected from Santa Barbara, Lornpoc, Orcutt, Nipomo and Carpinteria to join Santa Maria Parent-Teacher workers lor the meeting. The morning session, beginning at 10:30 o'clock, will be occupied with business and reports of standing committee chairmen, according to Mrs.

Charlotte Radke of this city who is president of the district, and the speakers program will be given in the alternoon. A luncheon is being arranged lor the noon hour by Mrs. Harold Norman, committee chairman, who asks that reservations be made with her as soon as possible. Entertainment at this time will be furnished by Miss Gyneth Glenn and little Bobby I Baker in a program of Irish songs. dances and instrumental numbers.

Although invitations have been sent only to the parents of the students taking part, Miss Elizabeth Smith, head of the department, has announced that any others interested are welcome to view the show. Assisting Miss Smith in staging the event are Mass Ruth Blanchard, Miss Ruth Crakes and Miss Mildred Daniels, the other instructors in this department.

Model Own Garments Each girl, appearing first before the high school assembly and then proceeding out into the court, will model her own garments, the styles of which have been chosen with special attention to her individuality. The entire display, ranging from formal to sports clothes, will be representative of the progress made by the girls in the fine art of sewing so far this year. Cotton and rayon, now so popular in milady's wardrobe, will be featured throughout the exhibit. Programs will inform the on-lookers as to the girl's name, the classification of her garment and its exact cast. Twenty-three girls will wear colorful print dresses; 11 beach pajamas; 15.

cotton mesh dresses; 7, colorful linens; 32. rayon mesh dresses; 2, tennis and beach shorts; 13. rough surface silks and rayons; 1, riding togs; 16, jacket suits; 3, formal and informal frocks; 2, coats and ensembles. Tea for Guests After the show, the foods classes will serve tea to the guests assembled in the inner court, which will be made homey and spring-like with lawn furniture and flowers. Music throughout the entire performance will be dispensed by the high school orchestra in the auditorium and during the tea hour a string ensemble will play in the inner court for the pleasure of the guests.

The program will include three groups of choral numbers by a chorus of approximately 20. These violas aie both over two hundred years old. one made by Hendrik Jacobs 1712, and the other by Angelus Tappani in Rome in 1733. There will also be presented solo dances by Miss Gertrude France.

F. Watson, which presented a St. Patrick motif. After cards a pleasing luncheon was served by a committee of ladies headed by Mrs. Bessie Weathers.

who is Dr. Nielsen's partner in the firm's offices here. Dr. Nielsen, formerly a resident of Santa Maria, moved to Santa Ana about six months ago. niece, Miss Edith of Watsonville visited at the Frank Carlson home last week.

Mr. and Mrs. A1 Luttrel accompanied Miss Camille Luttrel as far as Ventura where she was met by relatives to proceed farther south. Mrs. Ted Miles of San Luis Obispo was a visitor here last week.

Mrs. Joe Pruitt has recently returned from San Diego where she was called on account of the death of her mother, Mrs. John Martin. The Martins formerly resided here and have many friends who will sympathize with the breaved family. Mrs.

Martin had reached the age of 91 and is survived by her husband as well as sev-j eral daughters, and grand children and great-grand children, and a I great-great-grand child. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Curtis 1 and children stopped oer for a visit with the L. LaGraffee family on their way to Redlands where they will visit with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dumas and daughters were Santa Barbara visitors Saturday of last week. Robert George of Norwalk visitd at the home of his cousins the Gann family while here on a business trip. Ed Robinson and Arthur Hand-ley are at present at San Jose where they have employment.

In keeping with the usual custom. the mothers of the pupils that were on the Honor Roll for the last six weeks entertained in their honor with a dinner at th home of 'Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dinnes on Friday evening of last week. The affair was in the form of a Saint Patrick party and following the dinner, games were the entertainment for the evening with prizes being awarded to Mrs.

Luara Gann, and Leona Dooley. The young folks present were Berta Dinnes. Elinor LaFranchi, Harriet Bush, Leona Dooley. Frances Mil-horn, and Mary Radford. Marteal Johnson was unable to attend.
