He was born in Boone, Iowa on Dec. 30, 1895 and moved to Grover City in 1959 from Tulare where he had been employed as a cement finisher.

He died Sunday in a San Luis Obispo hospital. Survivors include his widow, Annie Bowman of Grover City; two stepsons, William Butts of San Luis Obispo and Merle Butts of Reedley; a stepdaughter, Beverly Coy of Concord; a brother, Cal weather 1 F. He was a graduate of Santa Maria High School in 1970, leaving Santa Maria to join the navy in 1970, and later worked as a machinist in Houston. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Bartholomew of Santa Maria; father, John Bartholomew of Roy, Utah; a brother, Mike Bartholomew of Santa Maria; a sister, Tamara Bartholomew of Roy, Utah; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Horne of Wilson, and Mr.

and Mrs. R.W. Bartholomew of Los Alamos. Duane Haga of the Church of Christ in San Jose will be officiating. Burial wiil follow in the Santa Maria Cemetery.

Visitations are this afternoon and evening until 9 p.m. Christopher W. Eames Christopher W. Eames, 10, of Orcutt died Friday in a Los Angeles hospital. Born in Santa Maria Aug.

9, 1968, he was recently a student at May Grisham School, and formerly attended Pine Grove School. He was active in Orcutt youth sports including football and Orcutt Youth Little League. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Eames of the family home; brothers Joseph and Thomas Eames of the home; his maternal grandmother, Mrs.

Edith Gregory of Santa Maria; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Pauline Eames of Santa Maria. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of the MagnerMaloney Funeral Home. A Mass of the Angels will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Maria Cemetery, Friends may visit this evening until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to Rosary time.

26, 1939, and was a resident of the area 17 years. He attended school in the area, and was a welder most of his adult life. Mr. Lara is survived by sons Timothy Hill of Galt, and Joseph Rios Jr. of Santa Maria; daughters Paula Rios.

Lucy Rios, and Cecilia Rios, all of Galt, and Susan Rios of Paso Robles; his father, Juan Lara of Santa Maria; and a sister, Louise B. Quick of Santa Maria. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the MagnerMaloney Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred' McGhee, pastor of the Lompoc Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Santa Maria Cemetery. Friends may visit until 8 p.m. this evening. An Easter Egg Hunt has been planned for Orcutt, and the Easter Bunny seems to be ready. Gathered around are David Smith, Greg Wilkerson, Orcutt Recreation Association Director Carol Wilkerson, Evelyn (E.

Bunny) Manville, and Sharon Smith. The hunt, which is co- sponsored by the Recreation Association and the Pine Grove PTFA, will be held Saturday, April 14, at 10 a.m. at Pine Grove School. Children will be divided into four groups, toddlers two- years and under, three and four- year- old, five and six- year- olds, and seven through nine year- olds. Each group will hunt in its own area under adult supervision, and children will be allowed to collect three eggs each and one prize egg.
