She was born in San Luis Obispo and had previously lived in Arroyo Grande, Ventura, and Port Hueneme. She served in the position of City Clerk for 20 years. Myrt was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and when she wasn't tending to city business or her volunteer organizational duties, she found time to sew ballet costumes for her daughter's extracurricular activities. She was an avid movie and television aficionado and enjoyed these pastimes following the conclusion of her city service. She retired in 1979, and spent her remaining years staying closely involved with her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and nieces, and her many friends and acquaintances here in the Santa Maria Valley. She is survived by one sister, Ruth Kokes, Ord, two daughters, Teresa Chamberlain, Guadalupe, and Becky Davis and husband, Doug, Tacoma, two grandsons and their wives, Michael and Julie Shipe and Christopher and Kerrie Shipe; two great-grandsons, Steven and Nathan Shipe also reside in Wash.

Her niece Priscilla and her husband Ron Benelli live in Las Vegas, and another niece Sandra and her husband Al Paul reside in Idaho; other grand nieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews are living in the western United States. Meade A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov, 18, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. for William L. Meade, 75, Santa Maria, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Santa Maria. Pastor Stephen Eckert will officiate. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment.

Mr. Meade passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 10, 2000. He was born July 24, 1925 in Alton, III. Mr.

Meade was raised and educated in various farm communities in III. He joined the National Guard and served in Hawaii during World War II. He came to Calif, in 1953 to work for the Los Angeles City School District. He retired in 1985. Formerly of Downey, Calif, he has been a resident of Santa Maria since 1989.

He was a member, of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior and of the VFW in Santa Maria. He enjoyed his collection of old music recordings. He is survived by his wife of 51 years. La Verne Meade, Box 6443, Santa Maria, CA 93456. Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary.

Margaret Norman Moss Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. for Margaret Norman Moss, 77, Nipomo, in the Wnitney Church, Whitney, Neb. Burial will follow the service in the Whitney Cemetery. Mrs.

Moss passed away Nov. 7, 2000 in the Marian Medical Care facility. She was born Feb. 4, 1923.) Mrs. Moss was born, raised and educated in Crawford, Neb, She resided in Southern California for many years and was employed with New York Life Insurance Company.

For the past few months she lived in Nipomo with her son. She was a good Mother and Grandmother. She is survived by her loving children, Dr. Robert Moss and daughter-in-law, Donna, Nipomo, Jennie LaRue Ferrette, Corona, Dan William Moss, Corona, sisters, Mary Jo Thompson, Scotts Bluff, Gloria Lopes, Eugene, Joy Isham, Colorado Springs, brothers, Jacque and Con Norman, Whitney, 9 grandchildren, Robbie, Tyler and Chase Moss, Nipomo, Doug, David, Meagan and Katie Ferrette, Corona, Lindsey and Danny Moss, Corona. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Joy Moss and a brother Tom Norman.

15, 2000 at 6:00 p.m. for Myrtle L. Chamberlain, 84, Guadalupe at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church. Mrs.

Chamberlain passed away Nov. 10, 2000 in her sleep at home. She was born Dec. 22, 1915. Myrtle, or Myrt, as she was often called, was born in a small Nebraska town.

The youngest daughter of Leslie and Myrtle Benson, she was one of ten children. She had two daughters and in her later years, she was best known as mom and grandma. MyrHe came to Calif, tn 1939-and settled in Guadalupe in 1948, where she lived until her death. Besides raising her two daughters, she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper locally. In 1956, Myrt became Meade, Normal, Robert Meade, Rockford, sisters, Mary Husskison, Lake Havasu City, Irma Jamirson, Pekin, Clara Arrowsmith, Normal, Norma Meade, Normal, numerous nieces and nephews.

"Lucky" Young, 76, diad Friday, Nov. 10, 2000. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 2:30 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, 624 E.

Camino Collegio in Santa Maria. The Rev. Carl Nielsen will officiate. A gathering for friends and family will follow at The Moose Lodge Club of Santa Maria located at 116 W. El Camino.

Mr. Young was born in Ashland, on Aug. 11, 1924. He relocated with his family to Calif, at an early age. He was inducted into the U.S.

Army in March 1943 and was assigned to the 526th Armored Infantry Battalion. He served in Europe during World War II, and after being discharged in Dec. 1945, he worked in construction on various major projects along the Central Coast, including Vandenberg Air Force Base and Diablo Canyon. He was an active member of the Laborer's Local 402 based in San Luis Obispo. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his one-liners, and always having a good story to tell.

His humor, his personality and his smile will be missed by all of those who had the good fortune to have known him. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters, his five children, Bill Young, San Jose, Wanda Waltz, Pismo Beach, Lyneva and Steve Sarellano, Guadalupe, Teresa and Jimmy Rodriguez, Guadalupe, and Richard and Theresa Young, Modesto; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, of which he was closely surrounded by Robert Canada, Anthony Canada, Gina Young, Adam Rodriguez, Christopher Canada, Andrew Rodriguez, Joshua Young, Derek Young, Erin Sarellano, Apryl Sarellano and K.C. Sarellano. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, June Young, only six months prior to his own. Arrangements are under the direction of Coast Family Cremation Services in San Luis Obispo.

There, she continued her education and worked as a psychiatric technician at Camarillo State Hospital, in Camarillo, Calif. In 1978, She moved back to Santa Maria where she attended Hancock College for two years and worked as the bookkeeper for Santa Maria Economic Development Association (formerly SM Valley Developers) for ten years, retiring in 1995. She left Santa Maria to pursue a career in real estate and be near her daughter in the Seattle, Wash.
