Santa Maria Times Friday, July 1, 1994 -A-7 Santa Maria OBITUARIES Thomas P. Forster, Ret USAF A celebration of life was held at 1 p.m. today in the Los Alamos Valley Mens Club for Thomas Price Forster, Ret 71, of Los Alamos who died June 29, 1994, at Santa Maria hospital after a brief illness. Cremation and private inurnment was requested. Mr.

Forster was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Galesburg, Ill. He moved to Santa Barbara in 1924. He attended Santa Barbara schools and graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1941. He joined the U.S.

Airforce in 1942 and served 28 years, flying in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Thomas P. Forster He retired in 1970 as B-52 Squadron Commander. He worked on Rancho San Fernando Rey and had a cattle partnership with his lifelong friends, Ralph Hughes and Ralph Weston. He was Santa Claus to numerous schools, organizations and day care centers, a member of the Santa Maria Elks Lodge the Rancho Vistadores, Santa Ynez Valley Carriage Old Spanish Days Carriage Museum and former director of Old Spanish Days.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Forster of Los Alamos; daughters, Pamela Murray of Nipomo and Candy Ruiz of Los Alamos; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Old Spanish Days Carriage Museum 129 Castillo Santa Barbara, Calif. 93101. Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary arrangements.

will direct Kenneth L. Fordyce At his request there will be no services for Kenneth Laurence Fordyce, 49, of Santa Maria who died June 28, 1994, at his residence of a long illness. Cremation and inurnment will 'be private. Mr. Fordyce was born July 31, 1944, in Dallas, Texas.

He was a resident of Santa Maria on and off for 10 years. He held various occupations including working for Pool Oil Company as a driller. He last worked for I.T. as a hazardous waste transporter. Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Fordyce of Los Angeles, Michael Adrian Fordyce and Paul Edgar Fordyce, both of Santa Maria; step-sons, Carlos Brown of U.S.

Army and Steven L. Brown of San Diego; half-brother, Mack, Fordyce of Plymouth. Contributions can' be made to Ariel House, 4281 College Drive, San Diego, Calif. Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary will direct arrangements. Morris J.

Nelson Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary for Morris J. Nelson, 62, of Santa Maria who died June 23, 1994, at a care center of natural causes. The Rev. Howard Leverett will officiate.

Cremation was requested with private inurnment in the memory gardens of the Dudley-Hoffman Columbarium. Mr. Nelson was born Sept. 15, 1931 in Los Angeles. He was a former resident of Harbor City.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Los Angeles. Survivors include his wife, Martha Nelson of Santa Maria; step-daughters, SHOP Stephanie Vigil of Espinola, N.M., and LaVon Boock of Torrance; brother, Robert Nelson of San Fernando Valley; sister, Nettie Nelson of Encino; aunt, Ethelin Bronson of Brentwood; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Nelson who died in 1985. Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary will direct arrangements. Willard T.

Blair Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Santa Maria Cemetery for Willard T. Blair, 81, of Santa Maria who died June 29, 1994, at his residence of natural causes. The Rev. Kenneth Shadle of the First Baptist Church of Nipomo will officiate.

Burial will take place in the Santa Maria Cemetery. Mr. Blair was born March 26, 1913, in Hugo, Okla. He had been a resident of Santa Maria since 1982, moving here from Gardena. He was a farmer for more than 45 years.

He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Santa Maria. Survivors include his wife, Neta Blair of Santa Maria; son, Ronald D. Blair of Nipomo; twin brother, Wilbur E. Blair of Muleshoe, Texas; andtwo grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m.

Monday at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary. John B. Hanscome Cremation was requested with private inurnment at a later date for John B. Hanscome, 65, of Santa Maria who died June 28, 1994, at a care center. Mr.

Hanscome was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Minneapolis, Minn. He had been a resident of Santa Maria for one year, moving here from Long Beach. He was employed more than 45 years in the advertising industry as a sales representative. He was a.

veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Minnesota. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hanscome of Santa Maria; daughters, Jann Hanscome of Thousand Oaks and Barbara Hanscome of San Francisco; sister, Barbara Munger of Richfield, brother, Bill Hanscome of Elk River, Minn. Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary will direct arrangements.

James W. Rowan Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel for James W. Rowan, 70, of Arroyo Grande who died June 30, 1994, at his residence. The Rev.

Robert Banker of the Open Door Church in Oceano will officiate. Burial will follow at the Los Osos Valley Memorial Park. Mr. Rowan was born in Salem, Jan. 24, 1924.

He was one-year old when his family moved to Independance, Mo. He met and married in Missouri. Mr. Rowan and his family moved to California in 1953. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy.

He was a retired carpenter, belonging to the carpenters union for 48 years and was a member of local in Arroyo Grande. Mr. Rowan was a resident of Arroyo Grande since 1974. He was active in Boy Scouts and Little League as a coach for ten years. Survivors include his wife, Betty J.

Rowan Arroyo Grande; sons, Gerald Rowan of Arroyo Grande, Gary Rowan of Cerritos, Calvin Rowan of Grover Beach; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel.

Becerra Funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at the MarshallSpoo Sunset Funeral Chapel for Arlene Nora Becerra, 54, of Nipomo who died June 29, 1994, at an Arroyo Grande hospital.

The Rev. Randy Ouimette of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Grover Beach will officiate. Burial will follow at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery. Mrs.

Becerra was born in San Luis Obispo, April 21, 1940. A lifelong resident of the Arroyo Grande area. Mrs. Becerra was of Catholic faith. Survivors include her daughters, Tina Ruiz of Arroyo Grande, Lynn Macias and Rachel Ferrei, both of Santa Maria; sons, Chuck Gonzales of Arroyo Grande, Eddie Hernandez of Santa Maria, Michael Becerra of Bakersfield; mother, Edith Gamboa of Aroryo Grande; brother, Vernon Gamboa of Camarillo; sisters, Marlene Becerra of Santa Maria, Kathryn Brownie of Grover Beach, Martha Downey of Oak View, Dorothy Melton of Santa Maria; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

H. Norman Green At his request no services are planned for H. Norman Green, 76, of Pismo Beach who died June 29, at an Arroyo Grande hospital. Cremation will take place at Lady Family Mortuary and Crematory with sea scattering to take place off Avila Beach at a later date. Mr.

Hackley At her request no services are planned for Joyce Francis Hackley, 43, of Arroyo Grande who died June 29, 1994, at a San Luis Obispo hospital. Cremation will take place at Lady Family Mortuary and Crematory. Mrs. Hackley was born Aug. 12, 1950, in Buffalo, N.Y.

She came to the Arroyo Grande area from Santa Barbara 18 years ago. She was a waitress for much of her adult life. She belonged to the Central Coast Animal Protection Society.
